Your future career opportunity

As Manager, Production Control joining a brand new department, you will be responsible for setting up processes and management plans, insuring they are implemented in a timely manner. You will be managing all production control activities for steel and outfitting production operations.  You are the one with the cool overview of everything that going on... From release of work packages, dispatching material lists for delivery to productions, and expediting material shortages.  You will also monitor and develop performance reports and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system data. You will report on setbacks and lead times, and identify and implement necessary corrective actions. Your attention to detailed capacity planning activities to level load production work will keep our shipbuilding program on track.

To be successful in this role

You will bring a wealth of experience in a planning or production control role in a large, complex construction or manufacturing environment, preferably shipbuilding.  Experience in steel fabrication and outfitting is extremely advantageous. You will have previous experience of working with an MRP system and be a proficient user of scheduling software packages. Your ability to influence through effective communication and interpersonal skills will be key to solving complex scheduling issues by working collaboratively across multiple departments. You will have previously held supervisory roles and be a proficient manager. A diploma or degree in business or engineering is preferred, but a Trade Certificate coupled with appropriate work experience may be considered.
