Position Summary

Summary: The Team Lead, Purchasing is responsible for the oversight and day to day management of the purchasing function. The Team Lead, Purchasing works with both suppliers and internal customers to determine needs, customer specifications and looks for alternative solutions in purchasing goods and services.

Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate the purchasing function working closely with internal customers to fulfill their purchasing needs.
Work with vendors to source out alternatives and determine the most economical and benficial option to fulfill purchasing needs.
Supervise and mentor Junior Buyers.
Work closely with the Finance and Accounting group to ensure all expense accruals are captured in the correct period.
Work closely with the Operations group to track all rental equipment to ensure maximum utilization and profitability.
Weekly cost reporting for the Senior Leadership team.

Role Specifications

3 to 5 years of related purchasing experience.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Versed in the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word, Excel).
Strong time management and organization skills.
Organizational and analytical skills.
Knowledge of AX would be an asset.
Works well in a team environment.
Maintain open communication with all levels of the organization.
Adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals.
