Drilling Materials Specialist

United Hydrocarbon International Corp. (“UHIC” or the “Company”) is a Canadian based, internationally focused oil and gas exploration and Development Company with oil and gas assets in Africa. Activity is focused in the Republic of Chad in central Africa, where the company has four blocks encompassing approximately 5.3 million acres, under one Production Sharing Contract.  The Company is focused on early-stage production from known oil discoveries in the Doba Basin with cash flow to be used on the Company’s contract area. The resource potential of the Doba Basin DOC/DOD and the Lake Chad Block provides the foundation for significant growth and value creation through exploration and development drilling.

Employment type: 28/28 Rotational Assignment

Term: 6 months with an option to extend and/or permanent

Language: Bilingual (French/English) Preferred

 

Position Summary

The Drilling Assistant reports to the Materials Manager on all aspects of his job and works with all members of the Procurement team to supports drilling activities in Chad.

Drilling Materials Specialist Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate tracking and control of drilling materials inventory including the setting up of virtual locations and the movement of product from general inventory to those virtual locations;
  • Move to and return from virtual bin inventory to well locations;
  • Ensure the proper inventory charges go to wells and balance the consumption information from the daily drilling reports;
  • Work with buyers and other company representatives to identify, quantify and visually evaluate equipment from vendors to ensure accuracy and basic functionality;
  • Work with materials management team on tasks throughout the warehouse as necessary;
  • Assess various invoices from vendors to determine accuracy, completeness and content is within the confines of master service agreements;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or the Drilling Engineer.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 15+ years’ experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drilling materials and equipment;
  • Experienced with drilling reports;
  • Demonstrated strong technical knowledge in well drilling;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a global, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team with superior analytical skills;
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing work priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work with multiple deadlines;
  • Ability to represent the Company's best interests in a constructive and professional manner during interaction with internal and external stakeholders and build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders.
